Get Your Entries In

Dec. 16, 2008
The Christmas Season is upon us and I’m running later than usual. I’ll blame it on the sluggish economy as well as a late Thanksgiving and one less week between “turkey day” and the start of the much anticipated “bowl season.” The 2008-09 Bowl Season starts Saturday with four games, so please have your picks in by Friday. Feel free to invite your kids, in-laws, spouse's, girlfriends, etc. to play along. Girlfriends that your spouse doesn’t know about would really liven up the action!! Last year we had 24 contestants. Each entry costs $5.

Last year, Loel took our money via the tie-breaker by following the ‘Vegas line. I’m betting that the line isn’t as good this time around. However, if we get a bunch of entries that mimic the line, then we’ll have to go to the weighting method (ranking your picks 1 to 34). I sure hope it doesn’t come to that. At the other end of the spectrum, Rich inherited the dreaded “Mirror Award” (And displayed it proudly for the past year I might add.) Bryan escaped the "mirror" by the hair on his chinny-chin-chin. Past winners of the "Mirror" include...Dick Strader, Dave Bass, Matt Dowd and Dale Jurecka.

The rules are pretty much the same as last year. You will need to provide a non-lcra e-mail address (like last year) but this year I’m going to try to provide the updates via a blog site
http://2008collegebowl.blogspot.com/ I’ll post updates to this site but occasionally send the updated Excel spreadsheet out to your e-mail (I doubt if I can post it to the blog site).

Happy picking.

Here are the 2008 rules:
