Good morning ladies and gentleman (and I use that term loosely), boys and girls, children of all ages. Welcome to the greatest show on earth…at least until we get a playoff system in college football. The field is set for the 34 college bowl games. We have 22 participants this year. Here’s how I suggest the payout for this year…1st = $80, 2nd = $15, 3rd = $10 and the “Mirror” winning gets his/her entry back ($5).
Attached is the excel spreadsheet with prognosticators and their picks. Please review your picks to make sure they were entered correctly. While every effort was made to enter your picks correctly, the judge is getting older and his eyesight isn’t what it use to be.
There are 4 games today starting with the EagleBank Bowl (wonder how much bailout money went to support this game?) starting at 10:00. With 7 games before Christmas and another 5 games next weekend, we will quickly see whose going for the money and who is coveting the “Mirror” this year. From a quick glance over the picks (and parity in college teams)…most of us are likely to be hoping we can just finish in the middle of the pack.
Our little contest is becoming quit the family affair. We have two husband-wife combos as the Williams and Hayes’ compete to see who gets to hold the “man-card” in 2009. There’s the Hegemier clan with Dad (Tom) along with Trent and Bryce. My money is on Bryce this year. And for the first time, my daughter Brooke (age 8) is playing. I read the team names to her and she picked her favorite…based on name recognition, mascots, etc. Next year maybe Levi and Carson will get in on the action.
I’ll post updates to our blog site as time allows http://2008collegebowl.blogspot.com/

Thanks for playing in our 2008 College Bowl Series. Good luck to all (except Loel) and let’s hope we have some fun, exciting games that make college football what we enjoy so much.
